You will have the opportunity to journey with prisoners as they encounter the challenges of prison life and separation from loved ones and whanau.

Role Priorities

We need someone who has a deep faith, several years pastoral experience, and how has knowledge of te reo and tikianga.  You must be confident in providing group and individual services, pastoral support, spiritual leadership, as well as leading and co-ordinating volunteers.

Our expectations

You will have a formal theological qualification or have made significant progress towards one and have several years ministry and pastoral counselling experience.

Ideally, you should have a strong sense of call to Ministry in a prison, and work experience with youth or those with mental health issues would be advantageous. Every day will be different, and so adaptability is important.  An aptitude for IT with the ability to use Office 365 is essential (experience using SharePoint will be advantageous) and the role requires reasonable level of physical and a high level of psychological fitness.
